Language of the Bulgars

The translations below are a mix of phrases collected from different periods of Hunno-Bulgar develpment ranging from the earliest tribes of Attila's horde which adopted a turkic-ugrian dialect all the way up to medieval Bulgaria which eventually adopted Slavonic from the local tribes. The Kutriguri use a number of these expressions as cultural references interchangeably - keeping what works and adopting newer, better expressions, much the way our ancestors did.

Ranks Amongst The Hunno-Bulgars

Kana Subigi = Highest of Khans
Kan = Khan
Kavkan = Conqueror. Among the Oguz Kutriguri, this title is given to the right hand of the Khan.
Baghain = Army General. Among the Oguz Kutriguri, this title is given to a Master Warrior.
Boylar = One of the leaders of a Council of Six which helped the Khan make important decisions.
Bilo = A high ranking dignitary of some sort
Uge = A leader of some sort
Knaz = A leader of some sort
Kopan = A leader of some sort. Among the Oguz Kutriguri, this title is given to a local leader.
Kanar Tikin = Judge and executioner, or young blood spilling hero
